Georgetown University Medical Center has announced that in a recent study, an experimental drug has shown signs that it may be able to stop the permanent damage caused by a traumatic brain injury, and help to promote recovery. The study was conducted on animals and its results published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). Researchers say their findings may hold promise for the treatment of human traumatic brain injury.
