The initial version of the new CDC tool kit, Heads Up: Concussion in High School Sport has been completed and released. The physician tool kit was developed in order to improve clinical diagnosis and management of mild traumatic brain injuries. Physicians can play a key role in helping to reduce the occurrence of MTBI by educating patients and the community about risks and injury prevention. NABIS, of which I am an active member, is listed in the materials as a participant in this project and is credited for its support. Additionally, a couple of the speakers on the Sports Brain Injury Track for the upcoming NABIS medical conference submitted materials for the project. You can order the publication free of charge here.
