I am looking forward to traveling to Australia to attend the 6th World Congress on Brain Injury which is being held in Melbourne, Australia. As treasurer of the International Brain Injury Association, I will be attending meetings while there and involved in selecting the location for the 7th World Congress. I am excited that the North America Brain Injury Society (NABIS) of which I am also a Board member will be making a presentation to host the Congress in 2007 here in the United States.

On Thursday, May 5, 2005 I will be speaking at a workshop discussing the benefits and pitfalls of various automobile liability programs including no-fault and full tort systems. The workshop is focusing on various insurance schemes that presently exist in the various states of Australia. I will be discussing various schemes that exist here in the United States.

On Sunday, May 8, 2005 I will be chairing the medical-legal program discussing traumatic brain injury and malingering. It will be interesting to see whether the issues on this subject are the same in Australia as they are here in the United States.

I look forward to reporting back when I return after the conference.
