The Dangers of Sports Head Injuries

Following up on my recent post regarding soccer headgear is a letter from John Burdsal, a "soccer dad" whose son, Camdon, suffered a traumatic brain injury during a soccer game. The letter was written to Dr. S. Robert Contiguglia, president of the U.S. Soccer Federation protesting the USSF's stand that headgear is not necessary for youth soccer players. Along with the letter is a photo of Camdon the day he was released from the hospital showing the scar from him surgery.

Thanks, John, for sending this to me.
