Carson finds 17% of Iraq vets have brain injury
A recent, and most surprising, study done by Fort Carson in Colorado states that 178 out of every 1000 soldiers returning home from service in the middle east suffers from some form of mild traumatic brain injury. This staggering 17% is significant in naming TBIs as the trademark injury of this war.
I've written before on the significance of raising awareness of veterans' medial care and the resources available to assist soldiers in their recovery after they return home. Now more than ever, with this recent study, is the need to increase awareness and support for soldiers returning home from service.
