Stern Speaks at Union County Inns of Court

On January 10th I was the invited speaker at the Richard J. Hughes American Inn of Court in Union County, New Jersey. My topic was “Preparing and Handling the Traumatic Brain Injury Case”, a presentation designed to teach attorneys how to prepare and handle cases on behalf of individuals with acquired traumatic brain injury. The presentation included a review of recent literature on the diagnosis of and outcome following traumatic brain injury.

The American Inns of Court are designed to improve the skills, professionalism, and ethics of the bench and bar, and they bring together experienced trial attorneys and judges to mentor and teach younger attorneys on these matters.  An American Inn of Court is an amalgam of judges, lawyers, and in some cases law professors and law students.  Each Inn meets approximately once a month to hold programs and discussions on matters of ethics, skills, and professionalism.

I very much enjoyed the opportunity to lecture not only to plaintiff trial lawyers, which I do with much frequency, but also to defense attorneys and judges.
