NABIS Elects New Officers
This past week, the North America Brain Injury Society (NAIBIS) held its Tenth Medical Conference on Traumatic Brain Injury and its 25th Medical Legal Conference on Traumatic Brain Injury. These two conferences brought together many of the top TBI rehabilitation experts and neuro attorneys in the United States.
Prior to the start of the conference, the Board of Trustees of NABIS held their annual meeting. At that time, Mariusz Ziejewski, Ph.D., a biomechanical engineer from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, was elected as the new chairman of NAIBIS. Also, Deborah McMorrow, Ph.D., a TBI rehabilitation expert who served as past chair of the American Academy for the Certification of Brain Injury Specialists (AACBIS) and has served on the Brain Injury Association of America’s Board of Executive Directors in the past, was elected as vice chair. Finally, Brian Greenwald, M.D., Director of Brain Injury Rehabilitation at Mt. Sinai Medical Center was elected as secretary. I will continue to serve as treasurer of NABIS.
The conferences, held in Miami, Florida, brought together attendees from throughout the United States and the world. Once again, it was a wonderful event. I am already looking forward to next year’s program.
